CJ JEFF - INTERVIEW

CJ JEFF, Nikos Zafeiris comes from Veria and has studied Sociology at Panteion but has never been involved in it professionally, in fact he is not involved in anything other than music.
He doesn’t like hurried and rough moves, and he believes that everything is gained gradually and those who make serious and measured moves step by step in the end are justified!

Just before his appearance at VANDAL in Pyrgos, CJ JEFF answers some of our questions… so we can get to know him a little better!

Hey Nick!
How did music and DJing come into your life?
When did you start your career and what were your motivations? and where did your nick name come from?

Hmmm, I’m not good at dating … it must be about 15 years ago when I started playing music, although I always remember myself being “addicted” to music. The nick name existed as JEFF and just in the process was CJ added?)

In which category of dance music would you classify yourself? and what kind represents you?

I think that especially today it is a bit inappropriate to talk about labels … it is better for people to come and hear you about all the sounds you present.
But tech House would definitely be a category you could join me in!

Tell us a little bit about how you feel when you’re behind decks? tell us about this feeling … the feeling !!

I feel like I’m in my natural environment, comfortable but also with enough stress!
I think I will never get over that for as many “flight” hours as I have …

Apart from DJ, you are also a producer and in fact very successful! Tell us a bit about the tracks you have released and the response they have from other DJs and fans!

It’s something completely different and definitely just as exciting, there’s always a bet if you’ll be able to tell and convey to the listener, in the dancefloor, how you feel when you write that particular piece.
When you do, it’s a really scary feeling.

You have ‘played’ in many stores in Greece and abroad, tell us a little about the differences in relation to Greece!

Many differences and many commonalities, I generally believe that every night and every audience is something special and that’s how I deal with them.

A few words about your future plans, what is your relationship with social media, the internet and what is your opinion about Vanilla Radio!

Chris Child … A name that could be called the most representative dj of his generation, with participation in the hottest and most massive house parties of the last 10 years. Born in 1987 in Athens and with musical knowledge in piano and drums, his love and inclination for house music did not take long. In 2009 he was a candidate in the AMSTEL competition “BEST DJ AWARDS” in collaboration with PLANETWORKS and in 2010 and after several residencies in known shops in Athens (BABAE, GALEA, BOUTIQUE, BALUX), joined the staff of SHOW ME LOVE PARTIES of JOHNNY GERONTAKI (JG). finds him at the end of 2011 with the creation of a new party called THE ROLLING STONE. , making the instant hit in everyone’s hearts and one of the biggest house parties in the capital (MIKRO, ISLAND, JOKE R) .In 2012 Chris Child also signed the music and lyrics of the 5-time Platinum album by Stelios Rokkos (“IDENTITY”) to the song “I REMEMBER” which exceeded 3,500,000 views!

With the release of EP ” 100 MOSQUITOS ” by the company RHYTHMETIC, CHRIS CHILD takes 4th place in the BEATPORT ELECTRONICA CHART with its original track, thus making a remarkable course that makes it stand out and places it next to renowned names in the field.

In 2016 Alskar was released through the collection of Alexandros Christopoulos sun: set 2016 as well as 3 collections with remix to 56 artists from classic songs of the 80s and 90s but also today with huge radio success and support from most djs of Greece and abroad. In the past he has collaborated with dozens of foreign artists such as sebastian tellier, staticman, rayko, James rod, schiller, kadebostany, nuvelle vague and many others. In the last 7 years it has appeared live in more than 160 venues throughout Greece. In his new project, he integrates Deem, one of the best DJs based in Thessaloniki.Together they choose music in a unique live uptempo back to back djs set with the support of musical instruments. Third season for musicorama, every Wednesday 23:00 – 24:00 on the decks of Vanilla Radio o Dj George Ch @ ntzis
He was born in Kalamata in 1985 and grew up in Messina where he took his first steps in the summer of 2002 as a DJ. In the winter of 2003 he moved to Amaliada and in parallel with his studies he worked as a resident DJ in a cafe-bar and club in the area.

In 2012 he moved again to Kalamata, continuing DJing in various cafe-bars, beach bars and clubs throughout Greece. In the summer of 2013 he collaborated as a resident DJ at BOUKA BEACH BAR where he first met BEST RADIO 97.3 and immediately joined the station, starting his own show. As a producer of BEST, he participates in the station’s parties as a guest DJ, but also warms up well-known names in the field, such as Michalis Delta (on the station’s ninth birthday).
